This week, I'm excited to spotlight Fitness Coach Jenn Mitchell of Personal Fit Coach. Jenn's story is truly inspiring, and I can't wait for you to read more about her!

About Jenn:
I’ve always been a relatively active person, but after having two children, and approaching my late 30’s, I really lost my motivation to workout and my metabolism went down the drain. I was overweight, unhealthy, unhappy and trying to care for two children under age 4. When I felt like going to bed BEFORE my children, I knew something had to change.

I started with a small goal to ride my exercise bike 10-20 minutes each day. Once that felt easy, I decided to up my goal to 30-45 minutes. It was on one of my 45- minute rides that I saw a BeachBody P90X infomercial on TV. If you are not familiar with P90X, it is a rather advanced workout system for 90 days. At the time, I thought to myself, “there is no way I can do that.” In the back of my mind, I thought, “hopefully some day.”

I did a little research and found another workout from BeachBody called Turbo Jam. It really changed my life. I found it to be fun and challenging, but not insurmountable. I really liked that there were participants of varying fitness levels as well.

Through a combination of BeachBody workouts like Turbo Jam, Slim-in-6 and Power 90, I lost 30 pounds. Then, last November, I hit 40 and made it my goal to get in the best shape of my life.

I finally decided to tackle my earlier inspiration and went through P90X. I am so thrilled with my results. Throughout many of the workouts, trainer, Tony Horton says, “Do your best and forget the rest.” This is my new motto as well and I want it to be yours.

It is easy to get caught up with comparing yourself to your neighbor, coworker, or worse, some celebrity or model. We need to focus on our own personal best and then set a goal to get even better. I’ve included my before and after photos so that you know that I did not start out as the fit person I am today. And, I am still trying to better myself each and every day.

How I became a designer~

My Review of Prim 'n Purdy
All I can say is WOW. I opened the box from Prim 'n Purdy and it smelled like heaven. Actually, since I don't know what heaven smells like, I can't really say that. But I can tell you that the scent of coconut reminded me of one of my favorite places on earth: Hawaii. It smelled absolutely divine.

I opened up the package and found a bottle of coconut body lotion for me - along with an entire gift pack for one lucky winner! (More about that in a second!) I took the lotion into my bathroom the other day so that I would know where I put it. When I went looking for it the next day, it was gone. My 12 year old loved it so much that she stole it for herself! I stole it back, and I now have it hidden away in a secret hiding place. And I'm not telling a soul where that is. :)

The lotion is incredible. Not only does it smell like you're lying on a beach in the middle of Paradise, but it also goes on clean. It's not greasy at all, and it makes my hands and body so smooth!

I have known Lori of Prim 'n Purdy for quite some time, and I can personally tell you what an amazing woman she is, and how much of a pleasure she is to work with. I would recommend Prim 'n Purdy to anyone who simply wants the best in handmade goods.

I am so excited to introduce you to Three Yellow Starfish. I first found her on another blog, and just had to know more. Her work in her etsy shop is simply breathtaking.

I had the opportunity to work with Margaret of Three Yellow Starfish with a blog makeover. Boy, was that ever fun!

I invited Margaret and Three Yellow Starfish to join us in the Americana Bash, and she agreed!

My Review of Three Yellow Starfish
Margaret of Three Yellow Starfish sent me a gorgeous pinafore for my 2 year old, Lucy. When we opened the package, and Lucy saw the dress, she shouted, "Fireworks!" The pattern on the pinafore reminded Lucy of the 4th of July fireworks, and she couldn't have been more excited. When I told her that it was her dress and she would get to wear it, she flipped out. She ripped off the shirt that she was wearing and had me put on the new pinafore. As soon as it was on, she said, "Take my picture?" She was ready to ham it up for the camera!

Then, last week, Lucy broke her arm. She opted for a pink cast - one that matched her new pinafore from Three Yellow Starfish perfectly. I had been planning for months to take our family pictures this week, but we were all going to wear the color red. Three Yellow Starfish saved the day! The gorgeous red and pink pattern on the pinafore allowed us to pull the pink from her cast and have it compliment the red in all of our outfits. I haven't been this excited about a family picture in ages!

Margaret also sent me an absolutely adorable pair of bloomies for Parker. They're blue with skulls all over them. They are perfect for wearing to the beach and are just super cute! Every time we've gone to the beach to show them off, I've forgotten my camera. I promise to edit this post soon and show you all how adorable they are. I always have people walk up to me and comment on them every time he wears them. They are just that cute!

I cannot say enough good things about Three Yellow Starfish. Margaret is wonderful to work with. Her designs are stunning, and the fabrics she uses are like nothing I have ever seen. My Review of Bowtique Unique
Bowtique Unique sent me a beautiful purple silk flower hairbow holder. What she didn't know when she sent it was that the flower matches my girls' room perfectly. In their room, they have a "Tinkerbell" theme. Everything is purple and green. There are tons of flowers, butterflies, and fairies. And the flower bow holder fits in perfectly.

Lucy (my 2 year old) has a ton of little clippies. She has outrageously curly hair and we're always looking for a way to tame her hair. The problem with that, though, is that it's hard to find a place to keep 8,000 clippies organized. The silk flower hairbow holder is perfect for doing just that, and it really jazzes up the girls' room!

The quality of the hairbow holder is fantastic. It is put together beautifully and it's easy to hang on a wall, a door, or just about anywhere. (We actually hung ours on the side of the chest of drawers. It looks fantastic!)
